Lancashire Women's Centres hold over three decades of experience and practice expertise in delivering effective, gender specific services to improve women's wellbeing. Through this work we have developed a range of services designed to support local organisations and businesses to meet the needs of both their clients and employees. This includes:
We can offer a range of continual professional development training activity which is appropriate for staff and volunteers working in all sectors. Areas in which we can provide training include safeguarding; managing risk; data quality management; working with vulnerable women; leadership development.
We can offer a range of training to support the emotional wellbeing of your service users. This may include sessions from our own MindFit programme or bespoke sessions designed for those who use your services, for example mindfulness, dealing with stress, goal setting and confidence building.
As well as our own commissioned delivery, we are able to provide our services to local partners to enhance their own offer.
In particular we have a skilled and flexible therapeutic team and are able to provide in house therapeutic services for local organisations. We currently provide therapeutic services for a number of Children's Centres and community projects, provide external supervision for therapists from other organisations and facilitate peer supervision activity for front line workers.
More broadly, we are committed to working in partnership to improve the lives of local women and welcome conversations about developing joint working activity.
We hold specialist expertise in the following areas: Provision of Gender Specific and Gender Considered Services; Criminal Justice; Mental Health; Mental Health Data Capture, Quality and Compliance.
We have experience of supporting and coaching voluntary organisations in these areas, with LWC CEO Sarah Swindley recently joining a new programme launched by the Kings Fund and Comic Relief to support sharing of skills and learning within the Third Sector. We are able to offer local employers the provision of therapeutic services to support the emotional wellbeing or their employees. Professional therapeutic support can be offered to provided to support employees with a range of issues including bereavement, relationship breakdown, depression and anxiety.
We have established relationships with a number of academic institutes and are keen to explore opportunities for research collaboration on areas of joint interest.
For example, our most recent research collaboration of the 'Vision', 'Avert' and 'Achieve' Interventions can be found here.
